Kiwanians are service-minded men and women united in their commitment to and compassion for others. A significant amount of volunteer time is spent working with our Service Leadership Programs (SLPs). Together, the members of these programs and Kiwanis members comprise the Kiwanis Family. If you would like to start one of the SLPs listed below, contact us. K-Kids gives elementary school-aged students the opportunity to develop self-esteem, leadership skills, morals and standards, and respect for others. It is open to any student who desires to become a leader in his/her school and community and wishes to provide service to others. Builder's Club - For children in middle school. Builders Club provides a chance to form sound personal values based on experiences in meaningful community-service activities and is open to any middle school student who wants to join. Clubs are co-sponsored by a Kiwanis club and the middle school. See a list of local Builders Clubs. Key Club - For young adults in high school. Key Club is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others—Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities. Key Club International provides members opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Since 1925, Key Club International has provided more than 12 million hours of service to homes, schools, and communities each year. See a list of local Key Clubs. Circle K - For young adults in college. Circle K International comprises clubs for college and university students with a lifelong commitment to community service worldwide. CKI’s principal mission is to develop students into a global network of responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to service. Circle K is a self-governing organization, electing its own officers and determining its own service activities. See a list of local Circle Ks. Aktion Club - For adults with disabilities. Aktion Clubs provide service and development opportunities for adults who live with a disability and are sponsored by a Kiwanis club, sometimes in cooperation with a local agency. Club members perform a variety of community services, such as environmental projects, park beautification, food drives, nursing home visitations, and assisting Kiwanis clubs with their projects. Aktion Clubs play as hard as they work, taking time to visit zoos, go to sporting events, and visit museums, among many other activities. See a list of local Aktion Clubs.
