George Crowl Presented PLGA Youth Leadership Award

On May 14th, Past President Andy Lawrence presented George Crowl with the Texas-Oklahoma District's Past Lieutenant Governors Association’s (PLGA) Youth Leadership Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize the adults who give countless hours of dedicated service as mentors and leaders to our Service Leadership Programs.

George is responsible for overseeing Cy-Fair's 11 Key Clubs and 4 Builders Clubs and is also extremely active in the Sea Scouts. George received a certificate, an inscribed desk paperweight and a $100 donation in his name was made to the TX-OK Foundation. Congratulations George!

Golf Tournament Benefiting The ELIMINATE Project and SLPs

The Kiwanis Club of Cy-Fair will be hosting their 24th Annual Golf Tournament May 6th at the Hearthstone Country Club. Please see the flyer below for more details.

Prizes:
  1. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Teams (scramble format)
  2. Putting Contest Trophy
  3. Longest Drive Trophy
  4. Closest to the Pin Trophy
Dress Code:
  • No metal spikes. Golfers must wear proper golf attire – collared shirts and long pants. Bermuda length shorts are allowed. Jeans are not allowed. Golf attire or “Country Club Casual” is appropriate for dinner.
Cost:
  • $125.00 Individual Golfer, Golf and dinner for one (1) person
  • $40.00 Individual Dinner, Dinner only for one (1) person

Aug 21st Meeting Hosts Chris Daniel, Harris County Clerk

The Kiwanis Club of Cy-Fair will host Mr. Chris  Mr. Chris Daniel, Harris County Clerk for our Cy-Fair Kiwanis Cub for August 21st as he discusses his daily routine and how it affects and serves the Harris County public. 

We will have our meeting form 12-1:15pm. Lunch will be provided for guests.

Kiwanis Cy-Fair Hosts First of Nine Triathlons!

The Cy-Fair Kiwanis Kids Triathlon is scheduled Saturday, May 5th. We need Key Clubbers there from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM. I know that several clubs are already thinking about it and have sign-up sheets out. I would appreciate a reply from each club with a guesstimate of how many Key Clubbers they will send to help. We need people all over the place, helping at the pool, transition area, bike track, run, registration, and awards. Please wear your Key Club T-shirts for publicity for your clubs.

Please promote the race with your members’ younger siblings and their friends younger siblings. This is for kids born 2000-2005. This is a good day to work hard and have fun. I have attached our race flyer. If you could run a few copies for your next meeting, it would be appreciated.

Note that Cy-Fair’s race is only the first of nine! There are two-three more that aren’t too far from us. You club can be of service to other Kiwanis Clubs if some of your members want to help them out over the summer.
